Draped knit top/Top drapé

Hi all,

Today I'm going to be brief and there will more pictures than words... Here is a draped knit top that I've been wanting to document for a long time 'cause it has some interesting details, but alas I tend to procrastinate when it comes to download pictures! This is a knit top copied from RTW (a french brand), and you'll find the info about the project on this review on PR. But for you, just for you my blog readers, I've reserved the shots that reveal the construction details and how the buckle is enclosed.

Aujourd'hui je serai brève et ce sera une publication avec plus de photos que de mots... Voici un petit top drapé que je voulais documenter depuis longtemps à cause de ses détails intéressants, mais j'avoue que j'ai tendance à procrastiner lorsqu'il est temps de télécharger des photos (c'est tellement long...)! C'est un petit top copié du prêt-à-porter (une marque française), et vous trouverez les infos (en anglais) sur le projet dans cette critique sur PR. Mais pour vous, rien que pour vous chères lectrices, j'ai réservé les photos qui révèlent les détails de construction du top, notamment la façon dont la boucle métallique est insérée dans l'épaule.

The back and the inner edge of the cap sleeve are finished with narrow elastic applied with the coverstitch/

Le dos et le bord intérieur du mancheron sont finis avec de l'élastique étroit recouvert avec la machine coverstitch

 The buckle opening edge is finished on the serger, then you gather the long edge, and then the buckle is enclosed prior to sew the front to the cap sleeve (raglan seam). It's a bit tricky 'cause the buckle gets in the way when you sew./

Le bord de l'ouverture pour la boucle est fini avec la surjeteuse, le long bord est froncé, puis la boucle est insérée avant de coudre le devant au mancheron (couture raglan). C'est un peu compliqué car la boucle laisse peu d'espace pour coudre.
